Beef Information Centre

The Beef Information Centre (BIC) is the market development division of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association. Formed in 1973, BIC provides market development programs for Canadian beef in both Canada and the United States. BIC’s vision is to have Canadian beef recognized as the most outstanding by domestic and export customers.

BIC’s programs are focused on five key areas: improving the quality and consistency of beef; increasing beef’s convenience; improving food safety; improving consumers' perceptions about beef’s healthfulness and wholesomeness; and highlighting the advantages of Canadian beef. They work closely with retailers, processors, foodservice distributors and operators, health professionals and media, in ensuring their product meets the needs of Canadian consumers, and Canadians in turn will understand the outstanding attributes of Canadian beef.

The Canadian Turkey Marketing Agency (CTMA) is a national organization representing registered turkey producers in eight provinces.

The members of the CTMA, through the Board of Directors, establish turkey production limits or a quota on an annual basis. This is done in response to market activity, market forecasts and expectations regarding imports and competing protein markets.

CTMA endeavours to ensure that Canadian turkey is readily available everyday, everywhere in Canada in the form consumers desire.

Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) promotes the wholesome goodness of dairy products and encourages Canadians to develop a healthy lifestyle, which includes a balanced diet and daily physical activity.

DFC also strives to create favourable conditions for the Canadian dairy industry, today and in the future. The organization represents the 16,000 dairy farmers currently operating in Canada. DFC is completely funded by Canadian dairy farmers.
